For a while there I had no idea of what kind of wreath I was going to put on our front door for this holiday season.
I like to make my own wreath every year, but this time around I wanted something different and I was completely out of ideas until last week, while shopping at Walmart of all places.
You never know where you will find your inspiration! :)
I was shopping for some needed groceries when I saw this pretty faux magnolia leaves bushes from the Better Homes & Gardens collection and right away I had a vision of how I could use them to make our Christmas wreath.
They were only $3.00 each, so I had nothing to loose.
I bought two of them, a couple of little holiday pics and a small chalkboard sign to which later I added a vinyl Christmas quote that I made with the Silhouette Cameo.
Total cost was $10.00.
I used some ribbon I had in my stash and the Bowdabra ( I just love this tool) to make a pretty bow.
Easiest wreath I have ever made!
I didn't even have to use any hot glue. I just cut off all the branches and placed them in the grapevine wreath one by one, tied the sign right behind them and added the bow.
And that is our Christmas wreath for this year.
What do you think?
I may just change it up a bit after the holidays and keep it on the door during the Winter months.
The rest of the porch is also finished, but I didn't want to overwhelm you with too many pictures, so I will give you all a little tour of the front porch in a couple of days.
Meanwhile, take care of yourselves and I will see you soon.
Beautiful wreath and a total bargain! I love my Bowdabra, too. I used to be a designer for them! :)
ReplyDeleteI think it is just beautiful...You had me at NO HOT GLUE...lol...I am still recovering from burns of Christmas Wreaths Past. lol It turned out great- Thank you Walmart for the inspiration. lol xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative and always make the prettiest things! I've got to try out one of those Bowdabras. So neat!
ReplyDeleteI love your wreath! I'm not good at making wreaths. Guess from lack of practice! I really like this one because it looks so inspired by nature.

Whah! I need a Bowdabra! I really suck at making bows! Yours looks so sharp and especially being a trendy tartan ribbon. Love the magnolia leaves and the sign you made is "the icing on the cake". Terrific job!
ReplyDeleteWell, this is a beautiful wreath, Maria Elena! I love it! I am going to look at my Walmart for those faux magnolia bushes! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMaria, thank you for hosting each week. Wishing you and your family a very Merry and Blessed Christmas!
