WINTER PORCH

As this week comes to an end, I would like to share with you the little bit of decor I added to the front porch.
Nothing big, actually, it is very simple, but I know it won't stay this way for long.

Our weather has been very warm, we reached 78 degrees yesterday, so I almost felt bad to put any "winter decor" on the porch. :) Neighbors must thing I am crazy!

You have already seen the pillows I made a few weeks ago and the wreath I put together from the leftover fabric.
This is how it looks all together.

After taking the Christmas decorations down, I cleaned the porch really well and this is what we were left with.
Oh, you don't know how much it was bothering me to see the porch so empty. :)

I just had to add a little color!
Everything I used  to make the pillows and wreath I already had, so there was no cost involved in this project.

I wrapped a little of the beaded ribbon around the candle and made a little fabric flower.

Before and after

I hope everyone have a wonderful weekend!
We will be finishing the project we started last weekend and I will be sharing it as soon as it is finished.

Happy Friday!

CLEANING AND ORGANIZING THE MASTER BATHROOM

It is hard to believe it is already Thursday.
This week is going by so fast!

I have been extremely busy around here, organizing closets, cleaning and sprucing up the house a little bit for the new year.

Last week, I took the master bathroom completely apart, cleaned everything in sight and put it back together again which it took me a good part of my day and in the process of doing that, I rearranged things a little different.

We have such long marble counters in there, I am always looking for a way to make them a little more appealing.

After everything was sparkling clean, I decided to add an old runner folded in half to the center of the counter space
to add a little color to all that white.

Everything else is the same, I just moved things around and this is what I ended up with.

On the runner I have a basket with my daily skin care, a couple of small towels and a picture of my children that I already had on the counter. We took this picture at a beach in the South of Spain many, many years ago and it is one of my favorites.

On each side of the left sink I placed my old glass jars and also a glass bowl with some natural dried orbs.

On the right side of the counter, I kept the same glass plate with the candle I already had.

And I moved the tiered basket to the far end corner of the right sink.
I also used just for fun one of the glass containers with the burlap rosette that I made last year to hold our hand soap.

I kept the area by the bathtub the same.

There is several changes we want to make to this bathroom, so may be this year
we will get brave enough to tackle this project.

That's it for today. Moving on to the next room!

Enjoy the rest of your week and see you all soon!

USING LEFTOVER FABRIC TO MAKE A WINTER WREATH

Hi, everyone!

Today I am sharing  a very simple and economical wreath I made for my front door.

It didn't cost me anything since I used everything I already had at home and some leftover materials.

I started with my old wreath from last year. The poor thing has been every color of the rainbow :) and I think I may have to retire it soon, but for now it sits, once again, proudly on our front door.

I had some leftover material from the pillows I made for the bench, not much, but enough to make some fabric flowers to which I added some little pearls in the center like I did with my stenciled winter pillow.
My daughter taught me how to make these a while back.
So simple!

And after those were finished and attached to the wreath, I added these little looking branches
I had from a long ago project.

It still looked like it needed something else, so I went looking in my box of ribbon and realized
I had some with the little beads on it. I forgot I had this! :)

I asked my husband to cut me a little piece of thin wood which I painted white and stenciled a snowflake on it using the same color paint I used for the winter pillow.

And here is what it looks like all put together

I am keeping it simple this year, since I know I will start getting the "Spring fever" here soon
and the porch will get a completely different makeover. :)
What do you guys think?

I will post pictures of the porch soon.

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to live me a comment. I really appreciate your visits!
See you all soon!
