Oooh, how do I struggle to decorate the mantle every time the seasons change!
I don't understand why it is so hard for me, does it happen to you?
Maybe it is because it is so large and so high! :)
I have been at it for a while now and here it is, my Fall mantle for the 2014 Fall season.
Nothing new on the mantle, just decorated differently.
I started by using my old urns and the leaf branches that I bought at Kirklands about five years ago. I have used them inside, outside and they still look as pretty and they did when I purchased them.
In the center, trying not to interfere much with the clock, I used the lantern my daughter bought me
for my birthday a couple of years ago and a few other Fall items I already had.
For the hearth, I made two new pillows.
The larger one I made with some leftover drop cloth and just stenciled some lines on it in "burnt orange" color.
The smaller one is the place mat I bought at Walmart and that I turned into an envelope pillow cover.
You can find that post here.
You can find that post here.
And on the side I added a pretty picture that I found on sale for $15.00 at Kirklands.
I just loved the print and the frame is so pretty!
And that is my Fall mantle for this year.
And no, I am not planning to tweak it any more! LOL
Thank you all for your visits and wonderful comments.
You don't know how much I enjoy reading them.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
Hugs!

Your mantel looks beautiful! I have the same problems when decorating mine & I do believe its because it's so big. I can't just throw a few things up there & call it a day like some many others can. There's just too much space. You did an excellent job! I have the same lantern.
ReplyDeleteYour fireplace is beautiful! I know I've said it before but that clock is just so perfect and makes the best backdrop for your accessories. Are you getting of this cooler fall air that we have in Dallas?
ReplyDeleteI love it! I also have a hard time with my mantle, but it is because it is the red brick. Seems sooooooo hard to decorate and so outdated. Hubby has not come around to changing it any. You did so good and I love the white mantle. Happy Fall to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteLove it, Maria! The urns look perfect! Now, I'm getting inspired to work on mine! I love decorating the mantle, just sometimes a real struggle to get it the way I think it should be. Anyone else feel that way?
ReplyDeletelooks soooooooo good Maria. Love what you did with your latern.. I have 2 and I might have to kinda sorta copy yours-)
ReplyDeletemay I ask where you got the sign you used? thats beautiful.

ReplyDeleteYour mantel is so beautiful, Maria! Love the pillows! Every year, I look forward to seeing your mantel; and this one is beautiful, as well!
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful! Your efforts paid off! It can be challenging to design these mantels. I always doubt myself and finally I say - go with it!

ReplyDeleteThat looks beautiful, Maria. I love symmetry and you did a beautiful job there. And seeing this reminds me that I am missing a Fall sign....hmmm...wonder where that is? LOVE yours! xo Diana

Your mantel looks lovely and I just love the pillows. I have a problem decorating my mantel because we have our tv above the fireplace and have the stupid cable box there. It's hard to decorate around that.
ReplyDeleteYour fall mantel looks wonderful! I love the pillows you made.
ReplyDeleteHi Maria! Oh, your mantel looks so beautiful! By the way it looks, I would never think you had any trouble putting it together!
