Good morning, everybody!
Today, I am sharing a new, simple project with you all.
Last week I showed you my kitchen decorated for Fall.
If you missed it, here is the link to that post.

Moving on to the kitchen
I have been looking to buy a runner for the island, but couldn't
find anything I really liked.
I have been seeing these runners all over the internet, some of them sell as high as $70,00.
I really like the look of them now for Fall, but not the price tag, so, I decided to
try my hand at making one.
As luck has it, I went to HL and Hancock Fabrics are they were out of burlap.
Couldn't believe it! I guess this is the season for burlap!
Two weeks ago, I finally found some when I wasn't even looking,
of all places, at Walmart!
This is a very good quality burlap, even better than the one I have been buying at HL.
I was very surprised, and at only $2.97 a yard! Great price!
So here is how I used it.
I used my trusty hem tape. Love it! So, no sewing needed.
But, I did stitched the lace on the runner.
I think this simple project dressed up the counter a little.
I still kept one of my old Fall placemats under the metal basket for a little more color.
Here is a before and after.
Still working on decorating my pot rack.
I want to add some basket and may be some dry flowers to it.
More to come on that.
And here are some pictures of the kitchen, breakfast table and family room
decorated for Fall.
I have a lot of extra burlap, so I may make one more runner
for a hall table upstairs.
Thank you for visiting!
Another week starts today!
Hope is a great one for everybody!
The runner makes quite a difference. I think the burlap fits into the autumn theme really well. I especially like this as there is no sewing involved!
ReplyDeleteI think my comment disappeared.....anyway, I commented that runners seem to be so expensive for little fabric. I like yours, and I love the fact that it is no sew! Your island vignette is so pretty!
