It has been almost two years since we remodeled our laundry room.
Our old washer and dryer set broke down on New Year's Eve 2010 withing two
hours of each other, no joke!!! So we found ourselves shopping for a new set
on New Years Day. Crazy!
At that time, we just threw all caution to the wind and decided to just
upgrade the whole room.
I don't have a before picture.
( never thought of taking a picture of our old ugly laundry room)
But all we had in there was a ten year old washer and dryer set,
a builder's metal shelf over it and a plastic mop sink.
The rest on the room was empty.
We added a new washer and dryer set,top and bottom cabinets with
new hardware, installed a counter, utility sink and new faucet,
added shelving to the wall, new light fixture and decor items.
This was the fastest project we have ever done! LOL
The whole room was finished in about three days.
Since then, it has pretty much stayed the same.
Just recently I added some new little items, a cute picture on the
top shelf and a small jar from Dollar Tree with some clothes pins.
That is a picture of my "Angel" just being cute. :)
I also added to the top cabinet this pretty plate I found at HL.
It is part of their Fall collection for this year, so, it is official,
my first Fall decor item is up! LOL
The truth is that I haven't felt any need to do anything else to this space.
I am happy with the way it turned out from the beginning.
Now, I just wish I didn't have to spent a trillion hours in this room every week!!! LOL
I hope everyone is enjoying their week.
Mine has been full of chores, painting projects that I just can't seem to be able to finish and very early in the morning yard work. :(
So, I am very tired and ready for the weekend!
Thank you all for taking the time to visit.
Your comments always make my day!
I love it...SO PRETTY. Makes me ALMOST want to do some laundry....I DID SAY ALMOST..lol.
ReplyDeleteYour laundry is fabulous. I love it. I wouldn't change anything either. Love the shelves and the decor. Hugs, marty
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty laundry room! You've made it so warm and inviting...I would *almost* want to do laundry all the time. You have accessorized it beautifully! You and your hubby did a great job! I wouldn't want to change anything, either!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved your laundry room, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteYour laundry room is very pretty. Your touches of bright colors (including that gorgeous Fall plate) give the room a very cozy feel. We are working on our laundry room & our kitchen at the same time. Why have just one area of "mess" when you can have two! I'm very ready for both to be finished.

ReplyDeleteOh- I love it! I have a functional laundry room but it really needs to be DONE, if you know what I mean. Yours looks great and is really inspiring to me. I think that is going to have to be my Fall project- I spend enough time there that it should be pretty....like yours! xo Diana

ReplyDeleteMy goodness, what a lovely laundry room!! Is it always this beautifully neat and clean? Mine is a MESS--I need to follow your lead and make it lovely!
ReplyDeleteI'm visiting from Kelly's Korner today.
ReplyDeleteI think this is the most beautiful laundry room amongst the participants. It's gorgeous.
I know what you mean about all the time spent in the laundry room. Seems it's hard to ever get caught up. However, you have a beautiful space to work in. Can I just say how lucky you are the washer and dryer quit working on the same day so you could justify buying a matching set? Our dryer just died, but our washer is still holding out, so ours don't match. Your room looks great with all the modern touches, so thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteDoing laundry in your laundry room wouldn't be a chore at all. It's not only efficient, it's absolutely gorgeous! Great Job!
ReplyDeleteIt's stunning! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous laundry room at Potpourri Friday!

Wow! What an elegant laundry you have, wished I could use if I have a chance.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I am green with envy. What you created is just the way I would like it. I have half the size where you are hitting something when you are in there and, it is right off the dinning room. So I hope you don't mind if I come visit you with my washing one day!
ReplyDeleteNo need to change a thing, Maria Elena! That laundry sign made me laugh! I need to get one of those, but I would need to update the prices! :)
ReplyDeleteYour laundry room has always been one of my faves! I LOVE it and would welcome doing laundry in there anytime! The new additions are perfect!

How good it must be to have a laundry room...although you know how it goes here at least I have my washing machine and laundry gear out on the "galeria" as I live in a flat at least is is tucked away. I must say this laundry room is extra special.....would that be a Talavera de la Reina vase I see up on the shelf?.
