CAFE CURTAINS

I hope everyone is having a good week!
As the triple digit temperatures continue in our area, I have been
trying to limit myself to just doing those indoor projects
that I have been wanting to finish for a while and, at the same time,
get all my Fall decor projects finished.

One of the projects I have been wanting to finish was
making cafe curtains for my kitchen.
I always loved this look but I wasn't completely sure of how to go about it
or what would look right.

I decided to pull the golden color of
my existing valances and found this pretty gold/mustard color fabric
on sale for $4.00 a yard, so, I figured I could not go wrong.

Here is my finished project.

You can't really see it in the pictures, but, although the valances and drapes
in my kitchen area are sage green, the valances have that golden color in the stripes.
Isn't the fabric pretty?

I also bought the rod and rings in black

I also added to the window an old pot I had with some sunflowers

And here is a little before and after

Total cost of project was $20.00 and, since I still have fabric left, I am working on
adding the same color to my breakfast area.
More to come on that.

What do you guys think?
I love how it made the kitchen feel warmer and, at the same time
I think this color is going to look nice when I start adding my Fall decor.

Like always, I thank you for taking the time to stop by.
It sure mean a lot to me!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

  3. It is just bright and cheery looking to me. I can see where it picks up the gold in the valance and it really does warm everything up. Perfect now and even more perfect for Fall decor- xo Diana

  19. Wow! For a kitchen, this look is absolutely chic! I love it. I think it is okay to decorate your kitchen with fancy curtains and flowers rather than the usual simple decors. The kitchen is one of the most used and important parts of the house, and it truly deserves to have a magnificent design.
