I think this is my first time ever not using bright colors to decorate the front porch.
Life has been so busy lately and now with all the upcoming repairs that will be done to our home, I know I won't have time to make changes to the porch decor, so I decided to just give it an "everyday look", something that I can carry into Summer if necessary.
It is very simple, but I think I like the clean, fresh look.
First thing I did was lay out the new outdoor rug we had bought over the weekend and also gave the bench
a very much needed coat of spray paint.
As always, my new pillows are the "star of the show" :)
I made the chevron and burlap ones and I bought the small "Home" pillow at Ross.
I also made a new wreath for the front door using the same color scheme.
On the right of the door I didn't make any changes, you will find the same post, "welcome" sign and plant that I had for several weeks now.
I have been working here and there on the back porch decor also.
I will be back to show you what I did as soon as I am done.
I hope you enjoy the rest of the week. Thank you for your visit.
Take care!

Perfect, Maria. Especially the last picture where we can see the whole porch. I LOVE your pillows!
ReplyDeleteI'm eliminating some of the bright colors on my backyard patio. I thought that would be the spot to try out colors but I haven't been happy. :(
Happy warm days!
Jane
Thank you, Jane! I am also adding some brighter colors to our back porch and I hope I can pull it off. :) Enjoy your weekend! xxx Maria
DeleteIt looks so neat and clean and fresh! Sometimes doing neutral things for a while is satisfying and provides time to think about what you will do next. I think it looks very welcoming. One of the reasons I like your blog so much is that you do clever, creative things on a realistic budget and that's the kind of decorating I aspire to. Thanks, Maria -

Thank you so much, Sandy. What a nice comment! It makes me very happy to know I can inspire you all to decorate without having to spend a fortune. Half of the time we already have things in our home that we can use to change things up a bit. :) Have a great weekend! xxx Maria
ReplyDeleteOh I just love how you decorated your entryway porch, it is lovely. The bench, pillows, especially the home pillow and wreath are gorgeous. The rug pulls it all together and is so welcoming. I am signing up to follow.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend………..
Sometimes the softer neutrals are a nice change from the bright colors. Your new pillows definitely blend well with all your porch décor! Very well done Maria :)
ReplyDeleteYour front entrance is lovely, Maria Elena. Your neutral palette is very calming and refreshing. I especially like the pillows you made. Well done! ♥
ReplyDeleteThe neutral colors look amazing with the stone on your house!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! This look will definitely carry you through the summer. You always have the best pillows!
ReplyDeleteLoving the soft colors you did on your porch. When the heat hits, it will still be a cool and relaxing place to sit and cool off. Loving those pillows and your sign (and the stand too)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Beautiful! I love the neutral colors, remind me of sand and beach!
ReplyDeleteHi Maria Elena! Your front porch is gorgeous I love the contract between your door and the stone. The bench and pillows are the finishing touch! ;)
ReplyDeleteMaria Elena, That wreath is Beautiful. Do you have a tutorial on how you made it? I would love to do something like this for my very small front porch. Love the neutrals. To me they are very calming.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Patricia. I made this wreath almost the same as the precious one. Here is a tutorial on how to make the flowers and put everything together. http://mariaelenasdecor.blogspot.com/2016/03/yellow-grey-burlap-wreath-tutorial.html. Hope this helps. :)
DeleteI love the neutral colors you used! I think they compliment the natural stone on your house. I love how you used the same material on your pillows and your wreath too. They look great together!
ReplyDeleteYou did a fabulous job on your porch! I love the neutrals you pulled together. The pillows and wreath are so pretty. I'll have to try making flowers like those on your wreath. I have lots of color on my porches and plant to share the screened porch in a few days. I do love your neutrals though, and it makes me wish I had gone with lighter colors. You won't have to change these for a long time. Even in the Autumn, all you would have to do is add some orange. Beautifully done!!
ReplyDeleteMaria Elena,
ReplyDeleteYour porch looks so charming and inviting!! Love the wreath and the rug!! Thanks so much for visiting!!
Hugs,
Deb
Who needs bright colours when neutrals can look as good as this? I think you've done a marvellous job and since it is autumn here in Australia, you've given me some inspiration for my outdoor deck. Thank you!
