RE-PURPOSING AND ORGANIZING

Happy Friday!
As most of us start changing our home decor for the coming season, I would like to share with you
a couple of tips to decorate and save a little money at the same time.

Let me start with candles.

I love them and you will find them in just about every room in our home, but we all know this habit can get pricey. :)
This is what I do quite often.
You can find these little candles at Dollar Tree.

Not the right color? No problem!
A little craft paint in any color you desire and a sponge brush is all you need to change the look of your candles.

Yes, I do use my old stash of coffee filters to hold my paint. They work really well.

A couple of coats and literally five minutes of your time and now you have candles to match the decor in the room.

Now, I have never lighted them up after doing this, I just used them to decorate.
I do not know if the craft paint is flammable, so do not try this at home. LOL

I also change the look of my flower arrangements and it saves me from buying new ones.
We all have silk flowers around the house. Just pull the blooms and add any flowers you would like.
The ones on my mantle have been blue, white and even orange.

 Imagine the possibilities!
I hope these little tips help you save on your Fall and Christmas decorations.

I have also been on an organizing mode.
It is something about this time of the year and the thought that soon we will be getting ready to cook and bake
our little hearts out, that makes me want to have my kitchen as organized as possible.

You all remember I organized my baking supplies a little while back.

This time around, I had to do something about my spice collection.
It either looked like this

Or like this. I could never find anything!

And this is how it looks now.

I used some small glass jars I had, made and printed some pretty labels and spent a whole morning organizing my spices. I also lined the drawer to make sure the jars don't move around. So much better now.
All I have to do is open the drawer and find what I need right away.

I hope this post gives you a little inspiration and saves you some time and money.
I brought down my Fall bins yesterday so I hope to get started decorating our home in the next few days.

Have a super great weekend, everyone!
