Hurricane Vases with Burlap Rosettes Copy Cat

Love, love these Copy Cat challenges!
I try to participate every time and, if I can't, it is still always so much fun
to visit and see all the beautiful projects!

When Debbie from Debbiedoo's announced this challenge coming up, I knew it was the excuse I needed to try and make/copy one of the many projects I have been wanting to make
but have putting off for one reason or another.

I have to tell you, I did not spend any money at all on this copycat.
I used everything I already had at home.
It is amazing all the things you can find in your storage closet! LOL

My inspiration for this project came from two different bloggers.
Back in March, I came across this post on how to
make Hurricane Vases with Burlap Rosettes at
Amanda showed us how she made hers for Spring.
This was my inspiration picture

In her post, she gave the link for another blogger, Kelli, at
Restore Interiors
that showed a beautiful tutorial of how to make the rosettes.

Well, I had all the needed materials, so I figured I had nothing to loose!
Thank you ladies for the inspiration and tutorials!
I have to confess, it took me several tries to come up with something
that resembled a rosette! :) Not so easy!

But I am so glad I made them!
I decided to display them on my family room coffee table and
I think it made a difference!
This is what I had before, kind of blah! And a little lonely!

And this is what it looks like with my copycat

Here is a little before and after

And here is the original picture and my copycat side by side

Now I am off to enjoy all the other entries in this challenge!
Thank you to Debbie for hosting this wonderful copycat party and
thank you to all of you for taking the time to stop by!

  15. Hi, I am a lover of anything burlap. I think your rosettes turned out darling. I have made a few where I turn the burlap as I go. A little different look, but I love them both. They really added to your table. Hopped over from Debbidoos, now following you.
    Hugs,
    Jann

  17. Hi Maria, first of all I'm loving your family room...not sure that I've seen it from this angle looking toward the sofa. That sofa is very much like one we just ordered...more about that later! I'm loving your burlap rosettes and the one you copied, too. Thanks, Helen
