Vignettes

Ok, I am still learning! But I am giving it my best try! LOL
I get so much inspiration looking through all the fabulous blogs out there
that I feel like my mind is just going and going 24/7.

I have to confess that before I started blogging, I had no idea what
the word " vignette" meant. I had to look it up!!! LOL

That is what happens when English is your second language! :)
 No shame on that!
My Grandmother always said you never go to bed without learning
something new, and I think she was very right!

Well, I guess I was doing vignettes around the house for a long time
and I didn't even know it!

Here is a few in my kitchen and a small one in my laundry room.
I have to tell you I don't have a specific color theme in my kitchen.
I buy and make what I like and I hope it all blends well together.

I may change some of it in the kitchen this summer to give it a brighter
look, but for now, this is what it looks like.

This is one of my favorite corners in the kitchen.
It took me a long time to find a lamp small enough to fit under the cabinets.
I new this one was perfect when I found it at Kirklands.
I love the small pull chain to turn it on and off!

In that corner, sometimes I use my butterfly picture and sometimes, the rooster picture.
I found the pair of rooster pictures at Kirklands also and when I saw they had the Spanish theme, they just had to come home with me.

 With the light off

This other corner in my kitchen always has something good going on. LOL
My daughter loves to bake, so she keeps my little ceramic cake stand supplied at all times.
I had these uplights for years and they are nice for extra lighting in the kitchen.

On the other side of the kitchen, I have the other rooster picture, some glass jars and a metal chest with flowers that I change with the seasons.

In the butler's pantry, a little wine and grapes theme

By the window, I have this pretty accent table my husband bought me
for Christmas a couple of years ago.
I use it to store some of my cook books and on top I have one of my
glass cake stands with some faux breads a a little greenery.

And finally, a small vignette in my laundry room.
I know, crazy! but, I had to make my daily laundry experience a
little more enjoyable! LOL

So sorry for all the pictures! I just have a hard time choosing the best ones! LOL
Still waiting for the sun to come out around here! Can you tell? :)
I hope you are all having a good week.
Thank you for coming by to visit!

  3. Everything looks so wonderful. I just found Kirklands online and have fallen in love with their things. I wished we had a store here, but sad to say we do not. I noticed some pretty trunk boxes in one of your pictures. May I ask where you go them? I am looking for a couple myself.

  10. María Elena, los rincones de tu cocina son muy bonitos, pero lo que más me llamó la atención es el posatortas, rodeado con cinta rosa la cual se puede cambiar según el festejo que se haga.

  11. Maria Elena, you have a real talent for vignettes! They are all so pretty! I do love little lamps on counters. Those uplights are especially fun. I think my favorite is the one in your laundry room. That lamp is just perfect for that spot, and draws attention to the word art on the wall.

Thanks so much for the visit to my blog. I always love your comments!

  13. Well, Maria Elena, you might not have known what a vignette was, for you definitely knew how to create them! I love all the lovelies you've done in your kitchen. I have one of the same rooster pictures, but Kirklands only had one when I bought mine. If I ever see the other one, I will be getting it. I just love Kirklands! I think it's great that you decorated your laundry room. I've been doing that, too, but we have some work to do in there before I share any photos.

Thanks for sharing the link for an alternative to Picnik, & also for your nice comments on my "curb appeal" post.

  18. All your vignettes are so pretty and you little lamp is so pretty. I finally gave up finding one for my hutch. Our Kirkland's had closed, but reopened late last year across from the mall. Your lamp in the laundry room really adds a cozy look, too. I hope you have a great weekend.

  20. I never knew what it meant either pre blogging, and I taught school for 33 years! I am still not very good at them!
You, however, do a beautiful job!

  21. Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is
fundamental and all. Nevertheless think about if you added some great
images or videos to give your posts more,
    "pop"! Your content is excellent
but with pics and videos, this blog could
definitely be one of the very best in
    its niche. Very good blog!
