Oh, yes! It has been a long weekend, but all worth it!
When I explained to my husband what I really wanted in my new craft room, he said the first thing that had to go was the carpet. WHAT???
He said that what I needed was hardwood floors to make it look right.
Ok, I have to be honest and say I was very happy with just having a room to myself and changing the flooring never even crossed my mind but, this girl is not going to argue with her husband and say NO to pretty hardwood floors! LOL
So, with that said, the renovation of my craft room started on Saturday.
We selected a darker color, hand scraped " Old Rustic Cherry".
We worked all weekend, not finished yet, but I wanted to give you guys a sneak peek.
Before and after
What do you think?
Already looking for the right cabinets, shelving and counters for this room
and while doing that, I came across this lamp for $5.00 at our local Habitat Center.
I know! It is shiny brass! But I am thinking spray paint, pretty lamps shades and a little "bling" will fix it right up and it will be a great addition to the craft room.
Thank you all for coming by and visit!
Still so much work to do!
Will keep you posted
Looks great. Cannot argue w/the hubby on that one!

DeleteLooking good so far! Love the floor, and you couldn't leave the lamp in the store at that price!
ReplyDeleteTracey, for $5.00, I knew it had to come home with me.
DeleteThank you for visiting!
Love your floors! And, yes, that chandy with a coat of paint will be fabulous! Your craft room is going to look amazing! I'm excited to see the result!
ReplyDeleteShenita, thank you! Now I can't decide what color to paint it but I am sure it will come to me! LOL Could NOT leave it behind! I am so excited about my new craft room!
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming by!
Maria, your floor is amazing, and I love how it is looking in that great craft room. I love the beauty chandy, too. I would paint it only if I knew for sure that it is not real brass. Real brass may not be popular now, but it will always be in style...look at Colonial Williamsburg as an example. Real brass, not brass coated is not magnetic. A refrigerator magnet will help you test the chandy. If it sticks, it is coated. I carry a magnet when I go to yard sells or thrift shops. I know whatever you choose will be great.
