Just wanted to share with you a very small and simple addition to our mantle.
Nothing big, but I think it made a difference.
The mantle looks more finished.
We just added some Fleur de Lis appliques we found at Michael's.
They were only 3.99 for a bag of five and with the 40% coupon, the addition only cost a little over $2.00
We just painted them the same color of the mantle
I haven't made any changes to the mantle decor yet.
Still have the same items from before Christmas, but with all the other projects going on in this house, I haven't had a chance to worry about it much.
So, here you have it, a small and inexpensive addition that anybody can do and will change the look of your space
Maria,
ReplyDeleteOh my! makes me want to jump out of my seat and find these! In the meantime I will adore yours. I want to feature this on Scribbles and Swirls in the next day or so if that's okay!
Beautiful idea, as always. You and your hubby are a great team.
~Tami :)
Tami, thank you! Guess where we are going to add some also? Yup! The molding over the front door! You can also do this since we have the same entryway! LOL
ReplyDeleteI think it was a good change for a couple of dollars. Of course you can put in on Scribbles and Swirls. Thanks again!
These are great! What a nice touch!! So simple, but adds so much! I bought a bag of these little embellishments a couple of years ago. I painted them bronze and added them to the risers going up the staircase. (I saw it in a Showhouse that we visited and duplicated the look for about $3.00!) Your mantel looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteShenita, thank you! Oh! You just gave me another reason to buy more! LOL
DeleteWhat a great idea to put them on the staircase!
Your mantle is very pretty. I like the addition of the Fleur de Lis appliques.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Debbie! So simple but I think it made it look more finished.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much!

Diane, thank you for visiting! Your tablescape was lovely!
DeleteMaria, they look wonderful. Hold on, I need stock in that company. My sister added an embellishment to a very plain mantle and the result was amazing...she used one with swirls that was maybe 6 inches wide, Great post!
ReplyDeleteHelen, thank you! You are so right! Whoever invented these little embellishments is probably very rich now. It makes a great addition to any project and so many to choose from. Thanks for visiting!
DeleteThe mantle is beautiful and you have given me an idea to dress mine up a little - love the fleur de lis! And your clock is lovely. Please stop by to enter my giveaway of a digital scrapbook program!
ReplyDeletePatti, thank you for coming by and for the invite. I am heading over to your blog right now. Bought that clock at Kirklands about four years ago. I am glad my post gave you inspiration!

Looks awesome!! Don't you just love it when easy touches make such a big impact? I am visiting from At the Picket Fence and am now following.
ReplyDeleteYour mantel is gorgeous! Love the appliques.
ReplyDeleteHello Maria Elena!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how something that small can make such a difference. They look like they have been there for centuries! I love everything you have on your mantel, especially the clock which looks like it was made for that space! I just went back and read your last half a dozen posts, and you are very inspiring!
