Hello, there!.
I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Ours was quite, my husband worked some more on the back porch and I just did a little tweaking around the house and planning for my outdoor Fall decor and flower bed :)

With the change of season almost here, I was thinking of may be planting some mums on my flower bed
like I have always done.

This Summer has been so very hot, I decided not to plant any flowers and I am really missing them, but the truth is that with the drought, triple digit temperatures and no rain, they would of lasted a week.
On the other hand, the bushes on our flower bed are loving the heat and they have grown so much that I don't know if I will have any space left for mums. :)

This is what our flower bed looked like five years ago when we moved in.

A year and a half later

 Last year

And now

Big difference, right?
We just had all the bushes cut and trimmed and I still don't think I will have room for Fall flowers.
Well, I guess I will have to see what I can do. :)

Now, lets get ready for another great party.

Have fun!

  1. We really saw the effects of last year's drought this Summer. The plantings really took a beating last year. Hoping they bounce back next year.

I usually buy large mums and put them in urns on the front porch. That is a great for added color without planting in the beds.

    Thanks so much for hosting!

  2. Maria Elena, I would've missed the flowers too :( but you are smart ;) Good thing you can enjoy them now. Thanks for hosting the party, have a great week!

  3. It was very interesting to see how your landscaping has matured. I think you could squeeze in a few mums though!

  4. All your transitions have been very pretty Ma. Elena and now your lovely home has a beautiful Green frame to it...wonderful! Thank you so much for the awesome party. Big hugs,

  5. Wow! Your bushes really grew, Ma.Elena. You have a beautiful home and yard..Christine

  6. Love your mini garden up front Maria Elena! Thanks for hosting too!

  7. I love your beautiful front yard! Thanks for the party too!

  8. Your yard looks so nice. I can't wait to start working in ours.

  9. Maybe a few flower pots for instant gratification? Thank you for hosting.

  10. Hey Maria Elena,

Been away with computer problems, but am back and happy to be here again! Thanks for hosting!

  11. I'd be tempted to go with a few in pots too. I actually like the way the garden looks now.

  12. Ha Maria Elena, I have the same front yard dilemma! Our pretty greenery has flourished so, that there is barely any room for color! I guess I am going to have to squeeze them in or start buying pots! Thanks for the party, I linked up an older post from the days before I knew about Link parties...hope that's ok! :)

  13. Now that's a well planned landscape. It filled in beautifully and looks really great. I did plant some mums, and guess what? They lasted one week in the darn heat! You're so smart! Thanks for hosting your party, Maria. Enjoy your week.

  14. Wow, your shrubs really have grown! Maybe pots of mums will work! Thanks so much for hosting!

  15. I'm sure you'll make room for beautiful Fall mums ... I put mine in pots and scatter them in our beds ... they tend to last a bit longer for me that way! Happy "almost" Fall!

  16. Amazing how fast greens will think at the time you plant them it will take forever for them to grow and then in no time, a beautiful garden. Thanks for hosting my friend. Diane

  17. Your yard is lovely Maria! Thank you for hosting!~~Angela

  18. I'm a little late for the party but I made it! Your grounds are just gorgeous!
    be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  19. What a gorgeous home. And the landscaping is beautiful.

  20. Happy to participate for the first time and to be your newest French follower !
    xoxo from PARIS
