Yes, I know, it is only March! LOL
We have had a long winter here. Not really cold, but so much rain!
We are ready for Spring and Summer!
One of the thing we love to do is to spend those nice summer days on the porch,
at least until June. After that, we get into the triple digit temperatures
and it becomes unbearable.
Looking back at the pictures of last summer, I decided put a post together
about those beautiful Summer days.
I am in the process of taking the whole porch apart, cleaning it and
putting it back together with new decor.
I am still debating on the colors I want to use this year,
so I will share with you all as soon as I figure it out. :)
This is our porch last Summer.
I mixed teal, apple green and yellow, but I am a little tired of those colors now.
These are the pillows I made last year with the
left over drop cloth from the outdoor curtains.
I stenciled them with a damask design.
Having dinner outdoors is so enjoyable when the weather is nice.
Nothing fancy, but food taste so good outdoors, even on plastic plates.
And, after dinner, when the sun finally goes down, it is so wonderful
to sit outside and enjoy the nice breeze
Can't wait to start enjoying our outdoor space again!
Just dreaming! LOL
Thank you visiting!
Your porch looks so beautiful. This year we will be doing some work on ours and I hope it looks half as nice as yours.
ReplyDeleteWillow, thank you! I am sure yours will be beautiful!
DeleteI love your porch. I wish I had one. I do put a table and chairs in my back yard though and eat and spend time out there. Not yet though.
ReplyDeleteBarb, thank you! In our old home we didn't have one either and I also put my table and chairs out there. We are planning to make a lot improvements in the yard and we hope one day, hopefully soon, we will have the backyard of our dreams. Meanwhile, we just love our little porch!
DeleteMaria, this is so pretty! I can't wait to get outside either. I'm ready to get everything hosed down and cleaned up. You're right...we can only enjoy it until around June. Then, it's just too hot!
ReplyDeleteShenita, thank you! I was in the process of cleaning it when, last night, we got hit with such severe thunderstorms and a tornado touched down just a couple of miles from us. Very scary night! Now, I have to start all over again. The rain and high winds tore everything up, but, we are not complaining! It could be worse!
DeleteOh what a beautiful porch you have! I can see why you spend alot of time out there. You turned it into an outdoor room!
ReplyDeleteGina, thank you! I am responding to you guys here because something went wrong on my blog and the comments didn't show up as emails. I hope you all read this!
ReplyDeleteWow, how cool is this? Love love your porch and decor`. I can see why you are dreaming of the days ahead...Nice post! Hugs, Loretta
ReplyDeleteLoretta, thank you!
DeleteYour porch is absolutely beautiful. I love the bright, fresh colors. I don't think I would want to get off my duff to go inside! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteDiana, LOL, I know what you mean! Thank you for visiting!
DeleteI love your beautiful porch. Isn't it wonderful when the weather warms up and we can get outside again.

Laura, I can't wait either! Thanks for coming by!
DeleteMaria, it all looks untouched and new. It's pollen time here so you can imagine how yellow everything is. You've inspired me to start thinking about a new look or two. Thanks, Helen
ReplyDeleteHelen, thank you! I am glad I inspired you! I am getting ready to change it all. I am making new pillows now and getting it all cleaned up after the horrible storms we had this week. We had a tornado touch down so close to us! Very scary!
DeleteHappy Spring Maria Elena! I swoon over your awesomely-decorated COVERED porch! So inviting. I grew up with a screened in porch, and my mom decorated it so beautifully. I lived out there in the summer months! Unfortunately, I have a deck open to full Georgia sun from 9am on. And given the pollen, no way to enjoy it (even at these 80 degree SPRING temps) before summer sets in. One day, I'm sure I will (or maybe I'll cheat and get one of those pop-up gazebos!). Can't wait to see how you'll decorate it this year. Have fun! Nicole
ReplyDeleteAwwww!!! I love porches! This is so beautiful and love those pillows. I'm living in an apt now and still adjusting to no real outside space. There is a 12 X 5 flower bed right outside my front door that management allows me to have as my own to do what I please. So I try and enjoy that blessing. : ) I did some weeding yesterday and see so many bulbs and plants coming back. My roses are doing really well too; had a lot of pruning and healing to do to them when I moved in. Manager thought it was okay to trim award winning roses with a weed whacker! lol By the way, you were featured in last weeks Frugal Treasures Tuesday party! You can pick up your button any time! Hope you'll link up again. : )
ReplyDeleteI know envy is bad, but how I envy your porch! It does look lovely, so inviting. We just don't really have them like that over here. I suppose for one thing the weather is rarely good enough, and another is the lack of space. I'll just have to enjoy yours!
ReplyDeleteOh your porch is so inviting and colorful. I must get busy on some pillow making. I have my painters tarp but no time since this switch to create anything. I have you back on my roll again. YAY!
