PUTTING MY OLD IPAD TO GOOD USE

Happy September everyone!
It is so hard to believe summer is almost gone and although we are looking forward to cooler temperatures,
I really wish it would last a little longer.

Today I am sharing a small project I did in my kitchen a while back. Last winter, browsing through my favorite blogs, I came across this post by our friend Liz who blogs at The Tuscan Home. Liz had taken her iPad and mounted it on her kitchen wall. What a brilliant idea!
I, for one, always have my old iPad in the kitchen and use it when trying a new recipe or, sometimes, to watch a favorite show while cooking, but, needless to say, it is always in the way, so I decided to give this idea a try.
By the way, you can see her post right here.

I used an old 8 x 10 frame I already had and it fits perfectly.

All I had to buy was the heavy duty Velcro at Walmart.
It cost around $4.00. You get four squares in a package and I did cut mine in half.
All I did was apply a strip to the top and bottom on the back of the iPad and  pressed it against the backsplah.
I did the same with the frame and before I knew it, I had my iPad mounted on the kitchen wall.

Then I followed her directions to hide the wire.
I created a small vignette using a ceramic milk jug that I had bought at Walmart a long while back and to which I added faux greenery, my old plate from Kirklands and the hurricane lamp I always have in that corner of the counter.
The greenery hides the wire and plug perfectly!
On that corner I always have a placemat that I normally change with the seasons. The reason for the mat is because in that little corner of the counter you can always find a plate of homemade cookies, a pound cake or both. :)

Now, the iPad is out of the way and always plugged in, so I never have to worry about it running out of charge.
I can easily use it to look for a recipe on Pinterest or to watch the news from Spain while I am cooking,
which I like to do daily. :)

This set up works great for me because I have a second iPad that I use for everything else, so I don't ever
have to worry about removing this one from the wall.
What do you think?

I want to thank Liz for the wonderful inspiration and thank you all for stopping by for a visit.
It is almost time to start decorating for Fall. Are you all ready? :)
Have a wonderful and safe Labor Day weekend!
