Weekend Project

It is Monday!
Where did the weekend go?
Ours went by too fast!

We had several projects to keep us very busy and I will share those
with you through out the week.

Today, I am sharing the project that took my poor husband
almost all Saturday to complete!
Seems simple, but it was very hard to do.

A couple of weeks ago, one of my husband's coworkers and old friend
of ours, offered us a pot rack that he just had taken down from his kitchen.
His wife didn't want it anymore and he said he was offering it to me, free of charge,
before he took it to GW.

Are you kidding me?????????????????????
I have wanted one of these racks for ever and ever and ever!!!!
OOOOOH! I was so happy!!!

We made a few changes on it and, although, I still need to buy some
pretty pots and pans, ( I am thinking copper), I think my husband deserves an A
for this project! He did an awesome job!

This is what my new rack looks like

This is what the rack looked like when we received it.

As you can see, there was no way to put any decor up there
So, we bought two of these.

And after almost all day of cutting, measuring and installing,
this is what he came up with.

When he was finished, we sprayed painted it with
Rust-Oleum Metallic Oil Rubbed Bronze to match the kitchen lamp

I put up there my new rooster, a candle holder I had bought from Tuesday Morning and
one of the green jars from a set I had from Kirklands for a long time.

And here is the finished product!
I am sure I will change the decor on it as time goes by and I get some
pretty pots, but, for now, this is what it looks like.

I am very pleased with the way it turned out.
I appreciate you guys taking the time to visit!
Happy Monday!

  2. I LOVE IT! It is just PERFECT for your kitchen! What an exciting "gift" and you figured out how to "fix" it so you could decorate the top of it. Watch out-the gal that disposed of it might want it back when she sees how fabulous it looks now! xo Diana

  9. Maria, I'm loving the pot rack, too. I love the way y'all improvised to get the space for the items you wanted up high. Those fence sections worked perfectly. I'm needing a pot rack and never thought I would want one until a few months ago.

You have a lovely blog too.

  11. Oh, wow! Your hubby did a great job on the installation and you did a great job on the styling. It's already beautiful, but will be even more so once you add your pots, especially if they're copper!

  21. Omigosh it's absolutely gorgeous - just like the rest of your home. I love how you have it decorated and how fun it will be to change it from time to time. I wonder if there's any way to lower it? It's so pretty and if it were lower you could admire it even more. How nice that you got it for free too! Great job.
