SPOILING OUR " LITTLE GIRL"

Crazy day today!
It feels like a Monday, only on a Tuesday. :)
I have been trying to put this post together all morning, so here it goes!
A new bed for our little Angel.

Her bed needed a little upgrading, was getting king of flat, so we purchased a new insert pillow for it
and over the weekend, I made her a new cover.

I bought a $5.00 twin sheet at Walmart, cut it to size and made a very large envelope style cover,
that way it will be easy to take off and wash.

And because she loves to sleep on a pillow, I also made her a new pillow case with the leftover fabric.

Of course, every girl has to have a new throw pillow on her bed, :) so I made her a cute one with some drop cloth I already had. I stenciled her name on it a decorated it a little to match her favorite blanket.

She is happy as a clam! LOL
And sleeping better now, not that she ever has trouble sleeping. LOL

This week I am organizing closets and working on some Spring crafts little by little.
I will start sharing some of them this week.
Thank you for your visit!

TUESDAYS AT OUR HOME #48

WELCOME TO TUESDAYS AT OUR HOME!
I hope you had a great weekend.

We have been enjoying very nice weather and couldn't let the weekend pass without doing an outdoor project.
We continue trying to improve our outdoor space and my husband just finished building the steps around the porch that, eventually will take you down to a patio kitchen/eating area.

We picked up a nice stain at SW yesterday that will match the tile flooring on the porch
and we hope to have it all finished today.

Let's get on with the party!

MOST VIEWED OF TUESDAYS AT OUT HOME # 47

Hi, everyone!
I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Since the weather has finally warmed up in Texas, we are busy doing some home projects this weekend.
We reached 82 degrees yesterday. It was a glorious day outside. :) Felt so good after the cold and icy weather we have had for so many weeks now, but you all know what I mean. I know some of you have it worse than us.

Before I get busy today, I wanted to share the most viewed links of Tuesdays at Our home #47.

Ashley from 3 Little Greenwoods shared with us a beautiful tutorial on how to change the look of a lamp shade.
Beautiful project!

Tea in Texas put together a gorgeous Valentine's tablescape.
Every detail is beautiful!

Kristen from Mommy in Sports made a beautiful rainbow birthday cake.
I just love this idea. How fun!

Chickadee Home Nest shared with us a beautiful picnic tablescape she put together on her screened porch.
Love her china! So pretty and happy.
And take a look at all the snow outside!

Jessica from Fantabulosity shared a recipe for Guacamole Wontons and a tutorial on how to make them.
It sounds so very good! Yum!

Another great recipe was shared by Alea from Premeditated Leftovers.
Learn how to make the fluffiest frosting ever.
I just have to try this recipe! :)

Thank you, again, to all who took the time to participate!

BURLAP LABELS

Since I added the island in my craft room and purchased the cloth drawers, I have been looking around online for some pretty labels to download and organize my supplies.
When I finally found the ones I liked and went to print them, my printer had run out of ink. Go figure!
So I went to buy some ink, but instead I ended up in Hobby Lobby. I don't know how that happened! :)
The store is already full of "Spring" and while browsing through all the pretty decor, I came across these labels.

Yes, I was excited! These were perfect for my baskets!
A little pricey, since there is only four labels in one package, but with the 40% coupon,
they came out to a little over two dollars.
Not so bad.

I also bought these 3D alphabet stickers to make my labels. I was worried they were not going to stay on the burlap,
but let me tell you, they worked out great.

By the way, this new collection also had burlap pennant banner pieces ready to decorate,
burlap stretched canvas in different sizes and scrap booking supplies.
Very pretty!
I guess I am going to have to get sidetracked again. :)
 Enjoy your day.
Thanks for stopping by!

MONOGRAM STENCILED PILLOW IN MY CRAFT ROOM

Good morning!
I hope you are enjoying your week so far!

This is not a new project, but I have received several emails and comments asking me where did I buy the stenciled pillow in my craft room or if I had made myself, if I could share a tutorial.

I did made this pillow last year after I finished setting up my craft room.
The wicker chair was sitting empty and I decided to add a little "happiness" to it.

It was a very simple project and completely free to me since I had all the necessary materials to make it.
The only thing I was missing was white fabric.
I looked through my stash and could not find a piece big enough to make it.
Sooo, I got creative and I used a plane white bed pillow cover I had in my linen closet, which I cut to size, 16x16. :)
Yes, it is an illness! LOL

I already had the Martha Stewart stencils that I had purchased months before at Michaels for another project.

I chose the round stencil on the left upper corner of the above picture for my design, but instead of the bird, I personalized it by adding the letter M.
I used Americana "tomato red" craft paint and a stencil brush for this project.
Make sure you add a piece of cardboard in between your fabric pieces so it does not bleeds though while you are stenciling it.

Very easy to make.
I did sew mine, but you can also use hem tape.

And that's it! Very simple!

I love this little area of my craft room and I use it quite a bit.
The chair sits next to a small round table with some little red accessories.

And a picture of my mom to keep me company.
BTW, today is her birthday. She turns 71 years old.
Happy Birthday, mom! Isn't she pretty? :)
I miss her sooo much!

Here is a little before and after.

Not very good pictures, but it is so gloomy in Texas.
I hope you decide to make your own monogrammed pillow.

Enjoy your day and see you all soon.

INSTALLING MEDIA BUTTONS ON YOUR BLOG

Hello, everyone!
For the last couple of weeks, I have been trying to clean up my blog a little.
The truth is I had not made any changes for a while now, so it really needed a "facelift" :)

I have to be honest with you and tell you that making these changes scares me a little.
I was born in the mid 60's and our generation didn't have the privilege of growing up learning to use computers like our kids do now in school and, for that reason, it sure can be a real challenge sometimes.
Good thing I am hard headed and also read everything that falls in my hands. :)

I have been wanting to add media buttons to my blog and no matter how much I tried, it just didn't work.
Frustrating!
There is tons of information on line and I finally figured out this week how to install media buttons on my blog the easy way, without having to upload images to a photo program and try to find the HTML for each button.

Today, I am sharing this information with you, so you don't have to go crazy figuring it out, like I did. :)
Sometimes I make my life so hard! LOL

 Here we go!

First, you need to find the buttons you like.
There is so many free downloads online.
I found two sets that I really liked from two different blogs that were offering them as "freebies".
Or you can go to Google where you will find, literally, hundreds of them.
Saved the ones you like on a folder or your desktop.

If you like the colors of the original buttons, then you are set to install them on your blog, but if you want to change the color to match your blog design, all you have to do is upload them to PicMonkey one by one and make them any color you desire.
This is how I changed mine.

While you are on Picmonkey, you can also resize them.
I set mine at 60x60.
You need to do this process with every button that you want to add to your blog.

Ok, now you are ready to load and link them to your media sites.
After many hours of researching and trying about every way you can imagine to install the buttons on my blog, I came across a YouTube video that literally left me speechless.

The video was uploaded by Blogaholic Designs and she gives you a super easy tutorial on how to get your media buttons added to your site just by putting them on a blog post.
Brilliant! Why didn't I think of this! LOL
Just click on the above link and follow her super easy directions and you will have your buttons up and running in no time at all.

I hope this post helps others as "technology challenged" as myself. Let me know how it works for you.
I am off to visit all the entries linked to Tuesdays at Our Home.
Can't wait to see what you all have been up to this week! :)
Enjoy your day!

Welcome to Tuesdays at Our Home!
I want to thank you all for participating last week.
We had a great party! I hope you enjoyed visiting one another.

I meant to share with you last Friday some of the beautiful features, but I decided to start dinner first and opening a large can of baked beans, I sliced the side of my hand open a good two inches.
I will spare you the rest of the story, let me just say, I did NOT have a fun day. :)

She is so creative! Gorgeous display!
