BURLAP RUNNER AND A VIGNETTE

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Ours was quite, for a change. Everybody here has been sick with bad colds and we have been pretty much homebound.

And between administering DayQuil and spraying every surface of this house with Lysol,
I took this opportunity to finish some of the projects that I had half way done.
Since Christmas, I don't seem to be able to catch up! Even my front porch is bare. Working on that also!

My first finished project is a small burlap runner I made for the kitchen island. I used some very light burlap that I had purchased a while back and finished it off with a little decorative trim in the same colors as my kitchen drapes.

When all was said and done, I created a small vignette with some items I already had.

I wanted to keep it simple, so I just used my old ceramic vase to which I added a couple of faux hydrangeas which I displayed next my forever existing Fleur de Lis candleholders. :)
What can I say? I love them things!

And I kept my glass jar and just added a plate I had on top of the kitchen cabinets.

I also made a couple of changes in the breakfast area which I will share on my next post.
Didn't want to bombard you with too many pictures.

Hope you are having a great Monday and see you all soon.
Thank you for stopping by!

  8. As if you could EVER bombard us with too many of your gorgeous photos!! I'm loving that trim on your new runner; it complements your fleur de lis perfectly. (What is it about that shape that we just adore?) I'm kind-of in awe that you are doing projects like this when you're under the weather. (I hide under a blanket with the kleenex and watch tv when I'm sick!) You're just amazing! Hope you are feeling better soon.

  13. Hi Maria Elena,
What a pleasure it was to find your thoughtful comment. I'm so glad you stopped by.
Your first project of the year is a delight. I love the pom fringe you added. It adds such a charming touch to your kitchen.
I'm looking forward to several sewing projects in the coming year. I am, currently, at my son's awaiting the birth of our grandbaby. Mommy is 10 days overdue and we are praying for his birth anyday. I have been here in San Diego since December 31st. It's a blessings to be included in the birth...but, it will be a pleasure returning home, too. The older I get the more homesick I get when away.

I am your newest "follower" and look forward to visiting you often.
Have a lovely day, my new friend.
