I just love browsing through all your blogs.
The ideas and inspiration you can find in "blogland" is amazing. Such talented people!
That was the case the other day when visiting one of my favorite people, dear Lisa, who blogs at Texas Decor.
Somehow I had missed a post she published back in November (shame on me) and I just loved this project,
a simple but very pretty farmhouse sign.
So, with her permission, I created a "copycat". :)
This was a completely free project for me. Free is good! :)
You will be surprised what you already have around the house. This is how I made mine.
I selected a piece of wood from the fabulous collection of scrap wood my husband has in his workshop,
sanded it a little and gave it a coat of off white paint.
While it was drying, I made the letters with the Cameo using some scrap pieces of vinyl.
As soon as the paint was dry, I applied the letters
to the board.
And using a regular sponge brush, I painted the whole board in a shade of gray I already had.
I did let it dry for a little while, but started removing the letters before the board was fully dry.
And this is what it looked like after sanding and distressing it with some fine sand paper.
I used a metal stand I already had to display it over the kitchen cabinets.
Thank you again to Lisa for sharing this beautiful project and inspire me to make one of my own.
I had so much fun making this sign, I think I am hooked! :)
Enjoy the rest of your day.
It's just perfect!
ReplyDeleteOh, Maria it looks great!!! You did such a good job and I love how it turned out! You inspire me too with every one of your pretty decor posts. :) Enjoy the weekend and Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I need a cameo so bad and right now I'm doing everything the old and hard way. Have a blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteThis is so neat, Maria (and I love Lisa!). I think it turned out perfect. I have never heard of Cameo. I usually stencil everything but it's hit or miss with the spacing. This is great. Love!!
