HERE & THERE/ STARTING THE NEW YEAR AT A SLOWER PACE

Hello, everyone!
I haven't meant to go this week without really posting much, but after the rush of the holidays and fighting the flu for so many days, I have been left with very little energy.

I have projects going on, but I am taking my time with all of them. Maybe, without realizing it, that is the New Year's goal that I have set for myself, a little more "me time".

So today, I really have nothing much to share with you, "nada" like we say in Spain, :) but I thought I do a post and give you a little glimpse of how I have been spending my days.

I have tried to organized my time a little better and although I am still keeping up with household chores , I have been spending a lot of time in my craft room making items for my Etsy shop and also Valentine's and Spring decor for my front porch.

I showed you the other day the outdoor fabric I found last year on sale. I plan to use it for my Spring decor.
I was able to finish it this week and also made a new wreath for the door.

I never before decorated the porch for Valentine's, but while organizing all my leftover fabric, I realized I have so much, that I decided to put it to good use and for the first time ever, my front porch will be decorated for Valentine this year.

This year, I would like to add a new color to my kitchen and living area decor. I just love this shade of blue/green and I am working slowly to make it happen.

So, as you can see, I have really been crafting this month. :) I hope it all comes together soon.
Meanwhile, my front porch is decorated with the "winter blues".
Same decor from last year, but it sure is better than empty!

Now you all know what I have been up to. LOL
I really needed this quite time and I am enjoying every minute of it.

I will be back tomorrow with the features of this week.
Let me tell you, I was super impressed with all the creativity out there!

See you all soon!

  1. I think we could all use a little more "me time." I know I sure could. :) I just figured out that with my kids being out of school for Christmas and my hubby taking vacation time, that it's been five weeks since I've had the house to myself. Lol! I always look forward to seeing your beautiful porch decorated for all the holidays and I can't wait to see what you do for Valentine's Day! Your Winter porch is pretty amazing too. Hope you have a relaxing day!

  5. I've been enjoying working in my studio, too, Maria. It does seem like quiet time after the hubbub of the holidays. I'm glad you're feeling better.

  9. I really like your winter blues front porch, Maria Elena! I haven't really done anything with mine since putting away the Christmas decor. I really do need to put together a nice wreath for the front door. It really is kind of amazing how much we can get accomplished if we stay away from the blog-world a bit....lol! I've been on a purging & organizing spree but have some sewing and crafting projects lurking in the background I want to get to. I don't do much for Valentine's either, but it's fun to have a little love and sweetness. I think your front porch is going to be beautiful all decked out for Valentine's!
