Those of you that have been visiting my blog for a while know that I love to play and have fun
with the decor on my kitchen island.
I have been doing this since we moved in the house and it gets changed around a few times a year.
At first, I used to decorate/stage it using dishes and other decor items, but let me tell you, having to move everything all the time to clean and dust the counter got tiring very soon. :)
In the last year, I started changing the look of the island and tried to make it a little more simple, but I still try to set up a pretty vignette to go with every season.
This is the way it looked at the end of last Summer.
And then came Fall!
Christmas 2012
Last winter I changed it a couple of times.
What can I say? It was a long winter! :)
Spring/Easter 2013
Summer 2013
As you can see , I reuse the items I have over and over again and just add some other small decorations.
You would be surprise how many things you already have at home that you can use to create pretty vignettes.
I am already trying to do something for Fall, but not quite have it figured out yet. LOL
Meanwhile, I already cleared up the island a little and it sits kind of empty.
Maybe this will give me the push I need! :)
Do you decorate your kitchens for the different seasons?
I hope this post gives you a little inspiration.
I will be sharing soon my Fall decor for this year.
Tuesdays at Our Home is still live and going strong.
Stop by for a visit. Great inspiration all around!
Hope you guys have a lovely day.
See you soon!
All of them look pretty Maria Elena, but my favorite is the Easter one! So cute!
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing all of yours. I dont decorate much in my kitchen, usually a small vignette at the end of the bar , right when you step into it. I too dont want to move lots of things to dust and clean.
ReplyDeleteI love all the different looks you've done for the seasons! My favorites are the Easter and Christmas. You really have a good eye for decorating. :) I can't wait to see all your fall decor. I've got to get going on that, but as you know, it's hard when we're still having 95 degree temps here in Tx. LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun area to decorate! You've created a lot of good looks. I love that big 2 tear basket! My favortie s the Fall 2012 one.
ReplyDeleteAll of them are beautiful, Maria Elena! The one you did for Fall last year is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteThey're all beautiful, Maria! I was just playing with my little island today! Getting ready for fall!! Now, if only our temperatures would reflect it!~~Angela
ReplyDeleteHello, my friend!! I'm sorry I haven't been around to visit lately but I'm trying!! This is a great post...I truly love all of the vignettes and arrangements you have created on your island. I really need the ideas. I firmly want my old dough bowl on it as it represents the purpose of the island which has a marble top (as in making pies! lol!!). Then I get hooked on some of my favorite things and can't make changes. Any advice?
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
All the different looks of your island are great, Maria Elena. Of course you know I like to decorate my island and kitchen for the seasons or just special occasions. Once in awhile, I do a complete tablescape with all the china, etc.; but.....I agree with you that it is a lot of work. I prefer to stick to just the decor stuff that I can change more easily.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you change this for the seasons. It is something we don't do a lot of over here.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your looks Maria!!!
ReplyDeleteNow that I don't have an island to decorate anymore, I have a seasonal table in my entry. It works!
Happy Sunday!
Frances
wow, that was a lot of eye candy for all seasons to come!!!! beautiful
