SPRING HAS ARRIVED IN OUR KITCHEN

Hello! And good morning to you all!

You won't believe me, but last week, I spent three whole days cleaning my storage closet.
Oh, my, that was a job! And it is not finished yet.

While doing this, I realized how much decor I already have, it was like finding one treasure after another LOL so, this year,
I decided I was going to decorate the house for Spring without really having to buy anything.
It is amazing how many things you put away and forget about!

I have been working on my kitchen Spring vignette for a couple of weeks now, but I think I am finally ready to show you.
It took a me a while because I had to do a little spray painting, gluing and make burlap rosettes
and it is kind of hard sometimes to find "me time" :)

For these vignette I used what I already had, minus the cloches, which I made myself following Liz's tutorial
at Savvy Seasons by Liz. All the items were bought at the Dollar Tree for $5.00 and I purchased the stone spray paint for $7.00 at Home Depot. Everything else I already had. Total cost : $12.00.
Not bad!

On one side, you will find the cloches I made with the little bunny family and the glass vase I also painted which I decorated with flowers and my "Spring" eggs from last year.

I decided to use the candles I already had and dress them up with a little burlap.

And I placed them by a tiered basket which I put on top of a white ceramic stand for a little more height and I finished it with some different little birds and a few nests with eggs and flowers.

I also decorated the pot rack. I took all the pots and pans off and I hope to hang soon some other decor on it, like maybe some wired baskets.
Not sure what I will do just yet, so don't look up! LOL

At the last minute, I also made a small Spring wreath for the window, once again, using items I already had.

Now, I want to add a little bit of Spring to the breakfast area and I hope next week, I will be moving on to the decor on the mantle and also start on the front porch.
With temperatures in the 80's, my "Winter" pillow is looking a little ridiculous. LOL And I found enough fabric in my storage closet to make pillows for the next two years, so I don't have an excuse. :)

Thank you all for stopping by and always leaving me a comment.
I enjoy so much reading each and everyone of them. Talk soon!

SPRING WREATH IN THE KITCHEN

Good morning, everyone!
Moving on with the Spring decor! :)

Today, I am sharing a small wreath I just made last week for my kitchen window.
I was trying to work with what I already had, so the cost of this project was zero dollars.

I used left over burlap from previous projects to make the burlap flowers and I mixed them with some faux flowers
I already had. To hang it up, I used a pretty green ribbon.
Very easy and simple, but I think it dressed up my window a little bit.

And this is how it turned out.
I apologize in advanced for the quality of the pictures.
I can NOT take a picture on front of a window to save my life! :)

I know I am not using the right setting, but I am still trying to figure it out. Any advice? So, meanwhile, I had to close the wood blinds so I could show you more than a big white blur.

I think I may keep this wreath up all year and just change it for the different seasons. What do you think?

Thank you for visiting!
Enjoy the rest of your week!

DOLLAR TREE SPRING CLOCHES

A couple of weeks ago, our friend Liz from Savvy Seasons by Liz   gave us a tutorial on how to make cloches using very economical items from the Dollar Tree.

I had just finished decorating my kitchen for Spring, but something was missing
and this was the perfect project to finish it off.

I have already thanked Liz for sharing this idea and I also let her know I had made some,
which I would be sharing with you all, but all the credit goes to her!
Thanks again, Liz!

I took this idea of spray painting with stone paint a little further and also covered an old glass vase I already had.
I will be sharing the kitchen Spring decor as soon as I can edit my pictures. Working on it.

 And here are my cloches!

I followed Liz's directions.  First I primed all the pieces.

This is the paint I purchased.
I also used a different glue I already had. Next time I am out, I will pick up the E6000,
but this new superglue worked very well also.

Waiting for the stone paint to dry.

And my little bunnies have a new home this Spring!

Thank you, Liz, for the idea and inspiration.
I will share soon how I incorporated this project into my Spring decor for this year.

Meanwhile, enjoy your day!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and leave a comment. It means so much to me!

FIRST SIGN OF SPRING

Good morning!

Taking advantage of the wonderful weather we are having, we spent a few hours yesterday morning cleaning up
our front and back yard.

The grass is already starting to get green, well, just a little, but it was time to give it a little trim and get it ready for Spring.

Our weather has been so warm that plants are starting to bloom. The one that shocked me the most was the knockout roses I planted last Spring. By the end of last Summer, I didn't think they had made it. All I had left were two little sticks. :)
But I was wrong.

Not only they got really big over the last couple of months, but they have been blooming since around Valentine's Day.
I know! I can't believe it either!

Finally got my computer back in order, so I will be sharing soon what I have been up to for the last couple of weeks.
Enjoy your Monday and I will see you soon!

SOME CHANGES IN THE KITCHEN

It is finally Friday!
How is everyone doing?

I have had a busy week, lots of projects going on, spray painting, gluing, cutting and, at the same time, cleaning, cooking, doing laundry, well, I am a little tired. :)

It the middle of all this, my computer started acting up, so, with my daughter's help, I am also dealing with that.
I had taken some pictures of my recent doings, but, my computer also stopped reading my camera and now I can not download my pictures into it, soooo, with that said,
it may be a couple of days before I can show you guys what I have been up to.

Before all this happened, I had already saved some pics of a few changes I made in the kitchen.
I made new curtains for the small window over my sink and added a metal piece. I also changed around our coffee station.
My husband is old fashion and he was missing his coffee maker and although he never complained, I decided to compromise
and make room for it once again. Now, everyone is happy! :)

Here a few pictures of the way things got rearranged.
This week I added my Spring decor to the kitchen island and pot rack.
I will be sharing it with you all as soon as I can get my computer acting right again.

I wish you all a fabulous weekend. See you soon!
