Hello everyone!
Hope your week is going well.
Today I am sharing our new and improved dining room.
We bought the furniture back in October after a long time looking for a set we both liked.
This room has been empty for a long time.
The truth is that we donated our old set when we moved in this house and we sure have taken our time replacing it. :)
But that is how things go sometimes.
And this is our dinning room today.
One of the first things we ever did was to add chair rail to the room and paint the bottom part in Latte by SW.
I still wanted to add a little more character to the room, so I stenciled the rest of the wall with a damask design.
I still wanted to add a little more character to the room, so I stenciled the rest of the wall with a damask design.
That was a project I won't soon forget! :)
I knew what furniture I wanted, but couldn't find a set, so we bought everything separately.
First we purchased the chairs.
Bought a new lamp and this painting that reminded me of a street in the South of Spain.
And then came the rugs. We bought them from At Home.
We finally found the furniture we liked at Ashley's.
It is one of their new collections, very well made and in the espresso color we were looking for.
We purchased from them the table and buffet server.
So this is our dinning room. I am sure I will add a couple of little things here and there, but for now, this is what it looks like and I am just happy it is all finally coming together.
Before and after.
Thank you all for stopping by.
Tuesdays at Our Home is still live if you want to stop by and share your wonderful posts or just look around for beautiful inspiration.
See you soon!
Very nice finish

Thank you, Sonny! The stencil was a huge project. I love the look and if you mess up, is only paint, easy to fix. Believe me, I had a couple of spots I had to go back and redo. I am glad I did this project, but I am not sure I will ever try it again. Thank you for your visit. xxx Maria

DeleteYou have such a beautiful touch for decorating. You did a fantastic job on the stenciling. I first thought it was wallpaper. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteYour dining room looks beautiful! I'm just completely wowed that you stenciled the walls; I thought the design was wall paper until I read your caption. It's such a soft and pretty look. I love the way your rooms flow together and all the neutrals (love the neutrals) complement each other perfectly. Your beautiful furniture was worth waiting for!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Laure! I did the stencil a few years ago. Half way through it I was wondering what in the world I got myself into. LOL It took me several weeks to finish.Thank you so much for your compliments and your visit. xxx Maria

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful treatment on the walls. I'm not normally fond of any form of beige, but the dark woods balance this out so nicely. All the little details show so well. Can't wait to see it for the holidays, Sandi
