A few changes in the kitchen

Just wanted to share a couple of changes I made to the kitchen island.
Since I have a lot of counter space, this was not a space I needed to use on a daily basis,
so I have always kept my island staged with place settings for the different seasons
 and some other decor items.

Lately, I seem to find myself cooking and entertaining much more,
so I decided to clear up the island a little and just add some simple decor that it is easier to remove when we need to and also is less dusting for me!

On the other hand, I just found some pretty dishes with summer colors
that I want to display later on, so I may change it back as
summer time gets closer.

For now, this is what I did

This is how I had it set up since I took down my Christmas decor

I did start with adding a runner with pretty flowers I found at
Homegoods a few months ago.

I kept my Fleur de Lis candle holders and glass jar because they are just my favorite.

I always loved the details on this jar

And I added some ceramic jars I had for years, ( I used the third jar from the set on my pot rack right above the island) a metal box with some flowers
and a glass container with a little potpourri.

On the breakfast table I used to have a ceramic and glass fruit bowl, which
I relocated to on top of the fridge.

And I replaced it on the table with some magnolia flowers in a crystal vase.

I hope you are having a good week.
Mine has been kind of crazy so far. Ready to slow down!
Thank you for coming by!

  8. I love the new changes, but I also really liked the way you had it before. It's just in our nature to keep on changing things, isn't it?
