I sure hope everybody had a great Mother's Day!
Mine was just wonderful and full of pampering
and some great surprises!
My husband and children really went out of their way to
make this day special for me.
A few days ago, I posted Part 1 of our home tour.
If you want to see it again, you can find it here.
Now, as promised, Home Tour part 2.
Today, I will be showing you guys the second floor of our home.
We start with the stairwell.
I think this is what sold us on the house the first time we saw it.
A couple of years ago, during some time off work during the summer,
my husband and I added the chair rail and molding to the staircase wall.
Since it is all open space, we painted the bottom part Latte by SW to flow with the dinning room and living room.
This was not a very hard project, but very time consuming since we built and painted
all the molding pieces ourselves.
This was not a very hard project, but very time consuming since we built and painted
all the molding pieces ourselves.
This summer, we hope to have the time to remove the carpet on the stairs
and replace it with hardwood.
On the small landing, I added an accent table with a
vase with flowers, a clock and some pictures of my kids when they were little.
The picture on the wall has the same flowers as the vase.
On the wall going up the steps, I put in a vinyl quote and I did
some stenciling around it.
As you get upstairs, this is the first thing you see.
To the left, is the Master Suite.
And we have our own private balcony, which I am in
the process of decorating.
To the left of the bedroom, is the door to the Master Bathroom
To the right of the top of the stairs you will find our daughter's room.
This is the project we did during last Christmas.
This space used to be another family room, but, it was really
wasted space that nobody used.
Really! Who needs three living rooms in their home? Not us!
We had it fully decorated and all it did was to collect dust.
It was an open space, so we built the wall around it and installed
double doors to enclose it.
When it was all said and done, she went crazy in Pottery Barn! LOL
She is still looking for a rug, a bench for the foot of her bed
and some other small items.
I think she has done an excellent job with her new room decor!
If you turn right on the upstairs hallway, it takes you to the other three
bedrooms and two bathrooms.
First on the right, you find our daughter's bathroom.
She is also in the process of changing the decor here.
It is not very big, but she is just happy she does not has to share it with the boys! LOL
First door on the left is my soon to be new craft room.
This has turned out to be a long project, but we will finish it soon.
So far, we replaced the carpet with hardwood floors, added some high shelves that go all around the room, we installed a new chandelier, I made a new valance for the window and I just started to organize some of my craft supplies.
Cabinets, counter and work bench coming very soon.
I can't wait for this room to be finished!
Moving right along, down the hall are the boys bedrooms.
This two rooms have a Jack and Jill bathroom that connects the two rooms,
but, because I really cherish you all friendships,
I won't be showing you all that bathroom today. LOL
I call it " the twilight zone".
For those of you that have young boys in the house, well, you know what I mean!
Actually, this is an old picture.
We just bought our youngest son a whole new bedroom set.
I would of liked to show you his new room, but he just finished his college finals ( he passed all his classes with A's, by the way) and I can NOT get him out of that bed long enough to even take a picture! LOL
Coming out of his room and down the hallway again
And this is the view from upstairs
Well, this concludes the tour of our home.
I hope you enjoyed it!
There is still so many upgrades we want to do and so many walls to decorate,
but I am sure it will all happen with time.
Thank you all for taking the time to come by and
always leave me the sweetest comments!

ReplyDeleteBTW, my son is 17,,,,,know what you mean about the bathroom,,,and guess what??? It's gets worse as they get older! LOL
Your home is gorgeous and inviting! Comfort and great design all in one. I aspire! Your note about your boys made me laugh! I have two boys (12 & 10) and my poor daughter (she's 4.5) shares a bath with them. Luckily ONE of the boys is neat. The other? Forget it! We are redecorating that bathroom this summer and I'm hoping that will reinvigorate a certain boy to be cleaner (probably not, but I can always hope!) Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteMaria, If you have time I would love for you to link up part II of your home tour to my little Block Party! The link is open all weekend.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.

Hi Maria! Hope you are having a good week. I showed my husband the new pot rack and after I batted my eyes a bit and he rolled his eyes a little, he quickly went inside and started measuring! Works every time, I cannot wait to put it up!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to last week's Friday Block Party. This weeks party link is live now. Hope you will join us again and link up!

Your home is absolutely STUNNING! So tidy and neat and well put together! I have a young boy of my own, and you made me laugh in empathy when you mentioned the 'twilight zone' that is the boys space!
