A NEW SHOP

I finally did it!

Yes! I closed my eyes, took the plunge and I opened my very own Etsy shop! LOL

 Our Home Away From Home

For a while now my family and friends have been encouraging me to do this, specially my daughter, Diana.

She has been telling me for months that I need to share my wreaths with the world, LOL 
She is my number one cheerleader. Thank you, baby!

I was scared, worried, did I say scared? LOL

Well, it is done!

For now, it is just a few items, but I will be adding new wreaths and other homemade crafts soon.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

I hope you guys are having a great holiday weekend! Ours has been very interesting, to say the least!

We had a little bit of a crazy weekend, weather wise. Actually, a LOT crazy! And scary!

Our city received 10 inches of rain during 15 hours of non stop downpours Friday night into Saturday, followed by a second round of storms Sunday, which has caused some severe floods to our city.

This is what San Antonio looks like right now.

There has also been lost of life, things just happened too fast. We are keeping these families in our prayers.

Not a fun weekend! We have been trying to stay home, safe and dry and hoping things get back to normal soon.

Meanwhile, we have been doing some indoor projects around the house, trying to keep busy during this rough weather.

I finally finished the little pillow for the chair in my craft room.

 

For this pillow I used a Martha Steward stencil I had from a previous project 

but instead of using the bird in the center, I added my initial.

The craft paint I used is Americana "Tomato Red"

And my husband has been busy working on this. A new workshop he is building in the garage.

Actually, all the doors on the top cabinets and the large corner cabinet are already finished and we will start painting walls and cabinets tomorrow. After that, counters will be installed.

As you can see, never a boring minute around this house! :)

And before I end this post, I want to thank the men and women of our military who have served and are serving, and their families, for their dedication to our country and the  sacrifices they do every day to keep us all safe.

SITTING AREA

Good morning!

What a fabulous party we had this week! 

Thank you all who participated! You guys are the best!

As I continue my "craft room saga" :) I am almost done with putting together a little sitting area when I can sit to sew or just have a little "time out" during those crazy days I have been having lately. 

Perfect spot to sit down and look through my favorite magazines! 

The whole thing is taking me forever to put together because I am making everything as I go along.

I had this little round table, so I made a skirt for it with left over fabric and added a lace topper I already had.

For table decor I used the cloche I made a couple of months ago, a Campodimonte porcelain rose, a vase with branches to which I added some little red and white flowers and a picture of my Mom to keep me company while I am crafting.

Isn't she pretty? She turned 70 years old this year. I hope I look that good when I get to be her age. :)

 Next to the table I have a crate that holds some of my magazines.

My husband added wheels to it, to make it easier to move around.

I am making a stenciled pillow for the chair right now. I will share that project soon.
