A GREAT HOLIDAY WEEKEND

It sure feels like Monday! :)
How was your President's Day Holiday?
I have to say we had a wonderful long weekend, got many things done around the house, did a little shopping and even had time to finish a couple of project and have a little family get together.

Our weather has been just glorious!
Cool enough at night to sleep with a blanket and in the high 70's during the day. It sure feels like Spring around here.
We have also been having the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I couldn't help myself and had to take some pictures.
Isn't it gorgeous?

On Sunday, we had our family over for a little Sunday dinner. It was a great visit.
We always enjoy so much spending time with our little nephew.

I took a bunch of pictures, but, since I was trying to hurry before they arrived, half of them came our blurry,
so here are the ones I could salvage.

Our table was simple. I added a centerpiece with some Spring flowers. Couldn't help myself. The weather is just too pretty.

On the menu, for appetizers, prosciutto, manchego cheese and our traditional Spanish potato quiche.

For dinner, Roast beef prepared with sherry wine like we make it in Spain.

Plenty of side dishes, mash potatoes, macaroni, sautee mushrooms with olive oil and fresh garlic.

Corn, green beans and peas with ham

Fresh baked bread rolls

I forgot to take pictures of our salad bar, and remembered after we had already served ourselves. LOL

And for dessert, a little cheese cake and some really yummy European pastries.

And this was the view from our back porch as we sat down to have coffee.
Perfect end to a perfect day.

Our days have been so busy lately, it was nice to be able to just enjoy our weekend.
I thank you all for stopping by and wish you have a wonderful week.

A SMALL COFFEE STATION

I hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend!

First, I want to apologize for my lack of posting in the last week.
Life has been extremely busy and I haven't had a minute to myself. I am hoping things come down a little now and I can continue blogging and visiting all my favorite blogs. I will be trying to catch up in the next few days.

Today, I am sharing a small change in our kitchen.
My wonderful, sweet, loving, handsome husband, did I say wonderful? :)  bought me for Valentine's Day a new Keurig coffee maker that I have been wanting for a long, long while now.

Of course, this brought a few changes in the kitchen.
I just had to create a small coffee station to display it. :)

After looking at some Pinterest inspiration, I think they may be a few more changes in the near future, but for now, here is my little "happy corner" that we are all enjoying very much.
Isn't it funny how sometimes the smaller things can just make your day?

I thank you all for stopping by and for always taking the time to leave a comment.
I am working on some new things for my blog and I will share it as soon as I finish getting everything set up.
See you all soon!

OUR FIRST DIY PROJECT OF 2013

What a crazy busy but exciting week this has been!
I finally have my FB page up.
Don't laugh, but it has been extremely hard for me to set it all up. Good thing I am hard headed! LOL

I have been wanting to post this project all week, but been so busy with everything else.
We finished it last weekend and although is not decorated yet, I will show you today what the finished project looks like.

We have a niche on the hallway wall, between the library and laundry room. I look at it several times every day and I was never really happy with the way it looked, even though I painted the inside wall in a different color and changed the decor several times, it always looked to me like a dark hole in the wall.

Well, after putting our thinking caps on, this is what we came up with.

An this is the way it looked before

We did start by selecting a small tile that we liked.
We wanted something that would resemble stone, since that is what we have on our fireplace and the outside of our home. We ended up using Tumbled Marble for this project.

First step was getting the tile up on the wall and using spacers to get it to look straight and hold the tile up while it was drying.  When it was finished, we let it dry overnight.

Nest step was the grout, which it gave it a nice finished look.

We shopped around for the glass shelves.
First place gave us a quote of $300.00 for three little pieces of glass. Now, really! This space is only 30 inches wide.
We finally found a nice little shop that made all three pieces of tempered glass for $70.00.

And now I am just itching to get it decorated. :)
I am just not very patient when it comes to these things.

And this is before and after.

I thank you all for stopping by.
It is almost Friday! :)
See you soon.

FACEBOOK. FINALLY!

I did it!
Well, at least I think I did. :)

I created a Facebook page for my blog and I added  a link on my side bar.

For those of you that know me well, you know I am a little "technology challenged".

I would really appreciated it if you please check my link to make sure it works correctly and if so,
I would be very grateful if you follow (like) me.

It is going to take me a while to learn how everything works, but practice makes perfect! :)

Thank you all for taking the time to stop by!
