This Summer I have been absent from the blog a lot.
As you all know we have been dealing with all the home repairs due to the damage our house suffered during that horrible hail storm back in April.
There has been weeks that I had workers here from sun up to sun down and very little chance to blog or do anything else. Even then, when I look at my blog, I see you all are still visiting on a regular basis and I want to thank you so much for that. Thank you for your support!
Things are starting to come to an end and we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, so I hope to be able to be here more often and go back to visiting all my favorite blogs regularly.
At the beginning of summer I made a few very small changes to our leaving spaces using things I already had at home. Just the kitchen, family room and a few touches here and there in the entrance hall. In another month or so we will be decorating our homes for Fall, but before that happens, I am sharing with you what our family room has looked like all summer long. Better late than never. :)
This is the view as you walk in from the front hall.
Come on in.
All I did was add a few pillows to the sofa and hearth like the ones in our breakfast area and added a few summer touches to the coffee table and mantle.
And next to the mantle I added the painting I bought a couple of summers ago.
This the view from the kitchen.
This the view from the kitchen.
I will be back soon to share other small projects I have been doing around the house.
Meanwhile, enjoy the rest of your day and thank you so much for taking the time to stop by.
Your room is light and airy and perfectly "summer!" Well done, ME!
ReplyDeleteHope all is finished soon for you - having contractors in and out day in and day out grates even the steel nerves. I would have gone berserk! Hugs!
It sure has been a summer to remember! Sooo stressful! Have a great weekend!
DeleteI know how you feel about blogging in the summer and we had nothing disastrous occur like it did with you in April. It heals our souls to change and experiment with new styles when we feel a bit helpless in controlling other things. I love what you've done. I especially like your coffee table---mine is glass and I've often thought a fabric runner would give it texture. Thanks for the inspiration! ;-D

ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what you can do by changing out some pillows and adding a few summer touches and you've shown that perfectly. Looks wonderful! So glad to hear your repairs are coming to an end. Look forward to seeing your fall decor next month.
ReplyDeleteI love the style and colors of your home. It looks so comfortable and inviting. The painting beside the mantle is lovely. Summer is too short here. I am sad to see it go.
ReplyDeleteThat colors you have are my favorites also. You do a wonderful job in putting things together. It all looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour home looks wonderful no matter the season. You have a great sense of style and I love peeking inside your home! I hope that construction is behind you now or at least wrapping up so you can enjoy these last few weeks of summer! xo
ReplyDeleteYour style inspires me Maria Elena. I can't tell you how many times I've poured myself a cup of coffee and sat down at my computer just to come and visit your blog. I'd like to think that my home is just a little more special after picking up some ideas from you. Your pictures are beautiful. Thank-you for taking the time to blog for us and share your beautiful home.

Thank you Shelia. We are hoping to have this nightmare behind us soon. Take care!
DeleteSo glad your repairs are getting done. That's so stressful having workers in and around your home. Hopefully they'll finish up soon. Love your family room for summer!
ReplyDeleteDespite of hail storm you have managed to put extra efforts to design family room.Your family room is the prefect example of simplicity at its best. Loved the way you designed your family room and little items to perk up the space. And, throwback pillows are totally complementing whole space.
ReplyDeleteI love the pops of blue you've added. It looks so pretty with the taupe. I think it brings a summery look to your room also. Love the buffalo checked draperies as well.
