HOMEMADE BOXWOOD WREATH

Hello, everyone.
Just a small post today to share with you a wreath I made last week for our front door.

I made some changes on the front porch and I will share them with you soon, but, meanwhile, do you remember a couple of weeks ago we gave the front yard and flower bed a Spring cleaning?

Well, I saved all the clippings from the boxwood and with them I made this natural wreath.

An old grapevine wreath, a burlap bow and I had a new and free wreath for the door.

Before it went on the door, I did a little research to see if there was any way to preserve it.
I found this spray that helps prevent moisture loss on plants, so I thought I give it a try.

So far so good. I will keep you posted on how long it will take before it dries up,
after all, we have been in the 90's all week. :)
And look at the visitor I had while I was taking the pictures!
It sure feels like Spring around here! :)

Thank you all for stopping by and to everyone that linked to Tuesdays at Our Home.
I appreciate it very much.
See you soon!

  2. How nice! That's a great way to make a natural wreath. I know you can use wilt prof on evergreens in the winter to help slow down the drying. I bet it will work good!

  6. When I read your title to this post, I was hoping you had made this wreath from real Boxwood, and you did!! I've been wanting to do the same with our Boxwood bushes too but how did you stick the clippings to the wreath? I can't wait to make mine! Thanks! -Bev

  7. I just saw some preserved ones, today...$44 for a small one and $80 for the large and I was thinking of what neighbor might have a bush for me to snip and that I'd google how to preserve it. Yours looks great!

  16. Love the wreath, Maria Elena! We don't have boxwood around here, but I keep looking at the ready-made ones very wishfully. They are so expensive, though. I'm keeping my eyes open for something that could replicate the look of boxwood. We hit the century mark this weekend, so I guess we are starting our long hot summer!

  20. What a beautiful wreath, and love that you created it from something you would ordinarily toss. Interesting about the preservative, I know what you mean about temps in the 90s, it's been so hot here in So Cal. Have a great week! ~Lorraine ♥♥♥
