Spray painting and re-freshing the back porch

I hope every one had a wonderful Easter!
Ours was very hectic, but also, very nice.
We took advantage of our long weekend and the beautiful weather
we have been having and took care of a few outdoor projects
that we have been wanting to finish.

We started with cleaning our wooden planters and updating them with
a little spray paint. After the high temperatures we had last summer
and all the rain we got this winter, they were starting to look a little "run down".
We have several of these planters, on the front porch, in between the
two garage doors and on the back porch.
Since we had the paint out, we decided to just paint them all.

This is their new look for Spring

You can't really tell on the pictures, but, in person, they were looking pretty bad.
The more I scrubbed them, the worst they looked

I used Krylon Satin Almond for this project

Before and after

While we were waiting for the paint to dry, we gave the back porch
a good cleaning with the pressure washer and added a few pillows I made a couple of weeks ago and some Spring touches.

I added new pillows, placemats, flowers and candles to the table area

From the same material, I made some table mats for my small side tables

And also added some blue candles to the wall sconces

The porch will stay decorated like this until June, when I start decorating
 our outdoor spaces for summer

Thank you for coming by to visit and always taking the time to
 leave me a sweet comment.
Have a great week!

  1. Maria Elena- It looks wonderful!!!!! I love the containers that you spray painted. They look so much better-fresh and lovely for the new season. I also love all the blue that you have used for accents. It is serene and pretty. I'll bring the coffee to sit and sip and help break it in---what time should I be there?;>) xo Diana

  7. Hi Maria,

I am fairly new to your blog. I am in Texas (north central) and I have trouble with candles melting. We have a lake home, and just leaving them inside during the week with no air conditioning on makes them melt a little. Do you have any trouble with this on your patio..or do you bring them in when it gets warmer? It all looks so lovely, and your stenciled pillows are so exquisite~!!!!!!!!!!
