I knew this was going to happen!
I loved this color since the first time they said it was going to be the " color of the year".
Every summer I decorate my front door in red, white and blue, but this year I wanted something different.
So, I decided to give this new color a try.
I will be doing the Patriotic theme on my back porch since it is where we will be spending
our 4th of July celebration.
It all started when I found this fabric.
I saw it across the store and it was love at first sight! :)
I knew I had to bring it home with me and this is what I did with it.
And mixed it up a little bit with some drop cloth material
and a little stenciling and some Teal.
I just think both colors look so pretty together.
After I was done making the pillows, I found myself needing a new wreath
for the front door.
Isn't that the way it always happens?
So, I went "shopping" in my storage closet.
I asked my daughter to make me some fabric flowers with some
material I already had and some left over from the pillows.
Wrapped a little burlap around the wreath I already had, added some other flowers
I also found in my closet and a little teal ribbon for some added color.
And this is what it looks like
Even my candle got a little makeover
Then, I found these pretty flowers at Michael's, so I used them to fill my planters.
And this is what it looks like together.
Is it bright? Yes, it is!!!
You can probably see my porch from space! LOL
Even my plant in the corner got a little tangerine color.
I just used a plate I found at the Dollar Tree.
I think I may stencil or paint the pot this weekend when I have a little more time.
I only bought the material and the flowers and they were both on sale 50% off,
so total cost of this project was $14.00.
Not a bad price to give your porch a little update for the summer.
So this is what I have been up to this week.
Now that it finally stopped raining, I hope to get the back porch done in a few days.
I hope you guys are having a great week!
Looks beautiful! I love the pillows!! Megan
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect and the pillows are great.
ReplyDeleteIt is bright but it also embodies all the pops of color in a summer garden. Poppies is what came to my mind immediately. I love your pillows and you did a great job on the wreath. xo Diana

ReplyDeleteHi Maria Elena, thanks for your comments. I am now a follower. Your blog is amazing and had me at the start because I love that color! I look forward to more!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is beautiful! Your front porch reveal has convinced me I need to punch-up the color on my home's blah and ho-hum front porch. I'm going to start by painting the front door and then add some pretty and colorful decor as you have. Thanks for nudging me to the bright side with your gorgeous inspiration!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'm pinning a bunch!
ReplyDeleteMaria, that color is so refreshing for summer!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited, I thought of you yesterday as I was purchasing a kitchen pot rack from Goodwill for $24. I am searching and searching for months since I regretfully passed one up last year. How high (or low from the ceiling) did you hang it? I have to somehow break the news to MyLove this weekend, so we can put it on our project list! He hasn't seen it yet :)
P.S. Your link was the most viewed from last Friday's Block Party so I featured you today! Thanks for linking up :)
